RULES AND PRIZES

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

  • Create a main course dish using locally sourced ingredients inspired by the theme ‘My Yorkshire’ – the dish can be meat, fish or vegetarian.
  • Submit your recipe with images of your dish by 17th February 2017.
  • Heats will take place at the Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School on Sunday 5th March between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
  • Three chefs will progress to the final at the Pipe and Glass on Monday 20th March.
  • Entry to ‘The Golden Apron’ is open to 14-19-year-old chefs and cooks whether you cook professionally or just for fun!
    (You must be 14 by 17th February 2017 and no more than 19 years of age by 20th March 2017)

PRIZES

  • The winner will receive the title of 'The Golden Apron 2017' and a work placement at Cranswick plc working on the Asda account within the new product development team.
  • Three finalists will receive work experience at Michelin-starred restaurant The Pipe & Glass.
  • Branded chefs' aprons for all competitors.
  • Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School vouchers.
  • Signed copy of James Mackenzie's award-winning cookery book On the Menu.
